Derek A. Porter
Derek A. Porter has been the Principal Inspector of American Dream Property Inspection Service from 2004 to Present: The principle trainer and Inspector duties include administrations to incorporate property reviews for private and business land exchanges, shape and other natural testing, basic assessments, building assessments, development deformity examination, and master observer declaration on residential and commercial properties for buyers, sellers, tenants, and landlords; including real estate transactions, mold and other environmental testing, structural evaluations, engineering oversight, construction defect investigation, and expert witness testimony. Derek has been an inspector member of the California Real Estate Inspection Association. Instructor / Educator since 2005 and is considered an expert instructor and inspector of structural analysis, plumbing, heating and cooling, electrical, roofing, commercial building, new construction inspections, and the marketing and field training of aspiring inspectors. Derek was also a Contractor / Builder 1989-1996 performing onsite construction Superintendent duties, monitoring apprenticeships, and acted as chief land improvement consultant; directly involved in light to heavy industrial commercial construction and mechanical/plumbing services. Derek is an accomplished carpenter and has worked for multiple residential and commercial framing contractors, roofing contractors, large scale plumbing firms, electrical companies, and was a roofing installer for a residential and commercial contractor. Derek was a United Sates Marine from 1996-2004; serving as a Drill Instructor, Engineer Equipment Operator, Martial Arts Black Belt Instructor, Primary Marksmanship Instructor, and Platoon Sergeant for Operation Iraqi Freedom.
